Grade Level: K-8

Group Size: Individual

Source:http://miblsi.cenmi.org/MiBLSiModel/Implementation/ElementarySchools/TierISupports/MonitoringBehavior.aspx

Explanation of Idea: This idea is to encourage and acknowledge good behavior instead of always dealing with the wrong behavior. This idea will let students be good so they will be rewarded for positive behavior. This idea allows any teacher in the school to give out the “I caught you being good certificate.” This idea relates to component 4 that focuses on monitoring student behavior. This idea lets the students know they are always being watched by every staff in the school. Students will be encouraged to do the right thing. When the students receive the certificate they will collect them until they receive five then they will take their certificates to the homeroom teacher. The homeroom teacher will then review the certificates and decide what reward they will be able to receive for their good actions. This idea can be a school wide program. Each student will be able to receive the certificate for being caught doing the right thing. This allows the students to help each other not only for the certificate because they will not know they were caught until a teacher presents them with the certificate so the students will have to act the correct away because they will never know who is watching. This idea will be school wide so it will create an environment of respect and safety.

Assessment Tool: Having this idea school wide will allow every teacher to evaluate the student’s behavior inside and outside the classroom. Students will be motivated to do the right thing so they can be caught and get that certificate. Having a goal for every month the students and teachers we will be able to monitor the behavior and the students who need a little encouragement to do the good behavior.
